Seda Kadakçı's nerikomi technique achieves finishes and patterns that no other technique can achieve. This technique, which can only be applied by hand, focuses on raw textures, earth tones and organic, natural materials to introduce natural elements. The collection takes its name from the seven principles of the Wabi-sabi philosophy, and aims for the unconventional beauty of objects that are far from perfection through asymmetry, sincerity and simplicity, the basic concepts of the philosophy.
The philosophy behind the design is to appreciate the simple and far from perfect. Every scratch, every imperfection tells a story and expresses an individuality not found in mass-produced products.
All the pieces produced in Seda Kadakçı ceramic workshop are hand shaped by the artist herself. Each piece is created with precision, patience and care. By its very nature, it is unique.
